Busy day ... ran around the city collecting stuff to get ready for departure tomorrow.
Immigration police - daunting, all in Russian, 10 windows to chose from, people everywhere, copies here, forms there, but got it done.
Camping gear - needed to beef up camping capabilities ... found biggest outdoor store in Kazakhstan ...got a stove and fuel cans!
Food - got ramen noodles, tea, chips, cookies ... feasts await me on the wilds of Mongolia : )
Training - refreshed my memory on how to change tires in the field, how to change air filters ... and realized I was missing a couple of tools.
Tools - found a massive Target-like store and got the missing tools.
Tire - met with Anton, a Kazakh motorcycle enthusiast who found the only tire in Almaty for my bike ... took me to pick it up ... and had lunch at Burger King at the mall! Great conversation about life in Kazakhstan ... relationships between ethnic Russians and ethnic Kazakhs ... Kazakhstan's developments ... his family and his beautiful 2 year old daughter ... he actually spent 2 years at Texas Tech ... small world.
Tomorrow, Stage 3 begins! Interesting feeling going at it alone.
