The motorcycle is now stored in a safe place in Istanbul, got clearance from customs to leave the country without it, and made it to Frankfurt. The bike even got washed and detailed. It looked new again, even after the 3,000 miles over 13 countries of the last 2 weeks. A great experience. Traveling is truly food for the soul.
This is the last post for phase 1. Back in Dallas tomorrow. Postings start again on June 22, 2012, as the trans-Asia part of the trip gets underway.
