Happy People

What a good thing is to be in a place where everybody is enjoying just being there. Dubrovnik is like a vortex with people from all over the world converging by plane, car, or cruise ship. Everybody is happy, on holiday, with people they like, amazed by the beauty of the place and its history. Local people seem happy to have all this noise around them while they are busy catering to the crowds and prospering. Wars, communism, it all feels so so far away ... the beauty of the power of hope and of a future full of possibilities.

Today, we took a cable car to the top of the mountain behind the city for some amazing views. We also walked the length of the surrounding wall of the old city. A nice way to gain perspective and to better appreciate the history of the area.

Tomorrow we will go through Bosnia, Montenegro, and Albania, as we make our way to Prizren, Kosovo, for the night. All these border crossings through an area that is still defining itself will likely be interesting : )
